Add dechlorinator. It will entirely neutralize the chlorine, making it fish-safe... Use 3-5 times the normal recommended dosage just in case. Just out of curiosity, why was your dad using chlorine to clean your tank?

You can use chlorine bleach to clean tanks and such things as rocks and plastic plants, as long as they are thoroughly rinsed. The rule of thumb is, if you can't smell the chlorine, then it is safe.

Wash it out throroughly. If you're concerned, go to an aquarium and ask them if there's anything you can use because chlorine isnt good for fish. You may be able to get some "aquarium salts" and poor some in whilst washing your tank because that's meant to be a good cleaning agent.

Rinse it very well and let it sit for 24 hours.

Diluted bleach becomes harmless after 24 hours.

Did you mean he poured bleach because you don't really find real chlorine as liquid? I would say you need to do multiple washes with hot water many, many times.

i warned ya! rinse with hot water multiple times, mix up some dechlorinating solution to 10x prescribed strength and let it sit for a bit, rinse again and repeat, then let air dry.

chlorine will evaporate on its on after a night.
