huh, why could we not choose any of those?? well, lucky for me, my favorite isn't one of those anyway -- my favorite is Interview With a Vampire.

Well, I'd have to say Cocktail (1988) Yeah an oldie. But I would have done anything back in those days to be in Elizabeth Shue's shoes! Top Gun would have been my number 1 pick. Man, that movie still makes me tingle down there. Of course now it's an entirely different story. Boy I sure miss those days...

Actually, this is difficult for me, as I like a number of his performances, including "War of the Worlds", "The Outsiders", "Risky Business", "Taps", "Rain Man", "Born on the Fourth of July", "Cocktail", "Far and Away", "Interview with the Vampire", and "The Color of Money". I also would have listed "M:I 2". I don't care for "Top Gun", by the way, and "Vanilla Sky" seems to have skipped the movie channels I have, but I plan to see it someday.

I choose one in which he seemed to merge so completely with his character that he's a world away from the young actor we were accustomed to back then: "Legend" (1985).

As Jack, he seems to step away from any screen image he had before. He was noted for being a method actor, something that seems to have been overpowered as he went thorough his action movie period. We saw it again in "War of the Worlds", as he portrayed a frantic father trying to keep his children safe. Well, in "Legend", he immerses himself in the role of a youth who is something like a spirit of the forest, a boy in love with a princess (Mia Sara as Princess Lily).

I love this film by Ridley Scott, which is a dark fantasy in an amazing setting.

A Few Good Men - good story and cast eg. Jack Nicholson, Kevin Bacon, Demi Moore and others that I think lifted his performance, and a bit of a message about honour and telling the truth and doing the right thing.

I have two, Legend and Interview with a vampire.
He played an awsome Lestat better than Townsend did in queen of the damned.
