I believe it was Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz in the 'I Love Lucy' series. Even though they were married in real life, many people thought it was immoral. Additionally, she was the first woman who actually was shown pregnant on TV. Prior to that no on even said the word 'pregnant' on TV. If you have ever wondered why the Lucy reruns are in such good shape, it is because Lucy made them to be re-run. It was a first! The opening credits with the hearts with the stars names in them was made just for the re-runs. The originals has a different animation with Ricky & Lucy running around as stick figures. The original name for the show was 'I Love Desi' She knew how to get her way.She was a great pioneer & business woman.

It was actually very controversial at the time. (I can't believe I know this) Also, the wife sleeps with curlers on even though she wears her hair straight, what's up with that!
