your right people need to stop blaming torre for the drop off theyve had
but also people like you need to stop blaming individuals for the yankees drought in the postseason
it wasnt just arods fault it was the TEAMS they just didnt get it done
if your going to blame anybody blame steinbrenner for not going out and getting better pitchers and keeping around older washed up ones like mussina
quit blaming a-rod hes not the entire friggin team... not all the players have gotten hot at the same team this postseason jeter even struggled and he usually doesnt... the teams that theyve had since 2000 just havent meshed well together and thats the best answer for the question

I don't care who was managing the Yankees the last 6 years they were not going to win the world series or go any further in the the playoffs, than they did having Torre as their manager. The Yankees biggest problem is pitching. They have horrible starting pitching and an even worse bullpen, and it's been like that for years now. They can spend 200 million or 200 billion on positions players it won't change anything. Until they get good pitching they will never win the world series or even get there. That doesn't mean they should go out and just give big money to any pitcher that comes along, Clemens is a good example esspecialy this year. They need to go out and get 3 good starting pitchers and at least 3 more relief pitchers all high quality not just high salaries. Unless Stienbrenner wants to spend 300 million next year on payroll, he should get rid of Giambi, if he can because Giambi's contract isn't up yet. Don't resign AROD if he opts out of his contract, because it's too much money for a postion player when you have no pitching at all, the portion the Yanks pay on his 27 million a year will pay for at least 4 good pitchers.

Hmm, somewhat agreed. Perhaps it is less about assigning blame than trying to reorganize... when the team that has the highest payroll every year, the team that has won 25% of the World Series since 1916, hasnt won the World Series in 7 years, there is undeniably something wrong. Joe Torre has been very well compensated for his efforts, and I'm not going to shed a tear if he isn't back. Whether it be a change of manager, or a change of players, or some other measure. as a fan I would like to see them win a World Series... sooner rather than later.

i'd miss him - yet as a Yankee fan i decide for to win. i think of he must be fired if he gets eradicated interior the ALDS or ALCS. American League Champions : nice. yet, I cant take all of this dropping. we've a 2 hundred,000,000 cost selection and gamers who do great things interior the customary season yet yet they cant take what they did interior the customary season into the submit season. yet than returned, Georgie would have performed it in a extra good way then only blurting out comments like 'If Joe Torre does not win this evening he would be fired.' in spite of everything - he did deliver you great years 1996 - 2001. yet Georgie does decide for to win. it rather is why he bought the Yankees an prolonged time in the past - he's not afraid to make judgements which may make different gamers and followers offended. because of the fact ya understand what? He. needs. To. WIN!

Joe Torre's time in New York has come and gone, along with Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera and quite possibly Alex Rodriguez. Brian Cashman has his work cut out for him; he has to re-sign the former greats for market value, not what the players think their value is. If Cashman lets some or all of these stars walk, we're going to see a couple things happen. Some owners will overpay the former Yankees and then watch them under perform. Meanwhile, the Yankees will outbid the rest of MLB for some big-name free agents such as Andruw Jones and/or Torii Hunter. Regardless we can close the chapter on this Yankees era.

I'll tell you why: If I am George Steinbrenner and I'm going to pay 250 million dollars in salaries for one year, i better get out of the first round of the playoffs.
Torre has a bunch of AMAZING players, he should win with A-rod, Jeter etc

I agree that he should be given another chance but unfortunately when a team struggles for a long time the owner then will often decide that one of the first ones to be effected is the manager when he's let go from his job when trying to make changes. In the hopes of making the team better.

simply because he is working under Steinbrenner who always demands positive results (championship no less). but Steinbrenner should also be blame for Yankee's fiasco by signing overachieving pitchers to big contracts. (eg Carl Pavano, Jamey Wright, and recently Roger Clemens and Mike Mussina)

Yankees only care about World Series Championships, and they havent won in 7 years now, and Boston is still in again. these really irritate NYers, the media puts the pressure, and I thinkhe will lose the job. I think however George is probably trying to get Randolph to leave teh Mets.
