Drinking kills people faster then you can belive. It ruins brain cells and is worse then a lot of drugs and drinking causes most murders. Alcohol isnt something that makes someone feel better its a depressent. It affects your body in a real bad way. By the time ur 30 if u drink a lot ur brain will look like eggs on a frypan. I once knew this guy who has drank when he was 21 when he was 27 he choosed to quit next day he died! at 27 he had a future ahead but died from drinking! We have one life and only one so live it up dont waste it with alcohol all alcohol is the same just no beer, and other drinks are different.

I've found that we are here to experience reality and there's always a price to pay before long when we spend too much time attempting to escape from it. Reality will try a little harder to grab your attention... LOL
Experience everything the world has to offer... Take a little time off now and then to just have fun. But, don't try to escape your responsibilities here... you'll find you really can't. Like some others have said here, you'll eventually find yourself at a point where you MUST make a choice. We all have destructive tendencies of one kind or another we choose to overcome or choose to serve... always at a great cost.
I'm sure many of the people here so boisterous and proud of not falling into something as evil and stupid as habitual drinking are failing to face some different destructive tendency that challenges THEM. They'll also get to the point where they have to make a choice. Nobody's perfect. Yet, people can be so quick to belittle other's weaknesses and challenges. Let he who has no destructive tendencies cast the first stone...

You stop drinking if drinking interferes with you making the life you want for yourself, or if you have obligations to others, like children and spouse, that you cannot meet because of being drunk too often.
Drinking too much is a drug addiction.

Well my uncle and my dad are alcoholics. My uncle almost died from alcohol from liver failure. He is 55 or something around that. It was a miracle that he lived. Thats an early age to be dying my dear. You'll gain weight if you don't exercise enough. Being drunk all the time can tear your family apart. Divorce/kids have totally abandoned you. You'll become addicted where you will actually NEED to drink and won't even have a choice if you want to drink anymore, unless you have the will power to, which can be terribly hard. My uncle has gone to rehab and he had been caught only once drinking within about a year and then got caught again and went to rehab AGAIN. Plus you could have heart disease/heart attack, liver failure, kidney failure, all at an early age. Just don''t plan to be an alcoholic.

well lets see you drink you drive you take a life in my book thats murder, and as for drug addiction your at that point when you have to ask that question (why stop drinking).look drinking is ok as long as you don't let it go to your head.we do dump things when we drink we get in cars and think we can drive. but you can't think fast enough to stop when you see some one in front of you.bottom line if you can't handle your drinking you need to stop.Yes life is to shot drinking shortens your life.you drink say good bye to your friends when you drink that maybe your last time living.

In my misspent youth, I woke up one morning hung over. Then I asked myself "why do people drink?"
I couldn't come up with an answer. It doesn't taste good, it doesn't solve any problems, it's never made anything better, just the opposite. There is just no point in drinking.
So I never drank again.
People who abuse alcohol use booze as a crutch.
Crutches are for cripples.
I don't want to be a cripple.

Life becomes even shorter when you ruin your temple!
Major drinking is as bad, in fact, to your body. Don't kid youself.
We're not just talking about social drinks, that would be silly of you to ask

Why stop drinking? Good question, but a better one would be, How can you consider it LIVING if you can't REMEMBER what you lived, BECAUSE of the drinking? If you can't remember, then thats not REALLY considered living at all.

I agree...However, the limit is when we cause others suffering--drunk driving, domestic violence, negligence, etc...It is possible to drink--enjoy it--and live a wonderful life...Unfortunately, too many people are just not able to do this--for a variety of reasons.
