I can certainly understand your logic and I am also somewhat surprised at the ignorance of the other answers. The fact is that the wolverine is the offspring of that of a prairie dog and a cow.

no, i don't. i think that they were created as a separate animal. they are just called 'wolverines' because they are vicious and so folks thought they were like wolves in temperment, nothing else.
