I don't remember the first wrestling match I ever saw. I was about 5, visiting my grandparents. This was around 1962. During the mid-60's was when I became a life-long fan, watching guys like Freddie Blassie, John Tolos, Bobo Brazil, Earl Maynard (the first "black superman"), Don Carson, Kenji Shibuya, Masa Saito, Peter Maivia (The Rock's grandfather), Mil Mascaras, Ernie "The Cat" Ladd, Mad Dog Vachon, Sunny War Cloud, Killer Kowalski, and Andre The Giant (a rare treat). Didn't get to see too much of The Sheik (he was always "banned" from TV for being too bloodthirsty). To this day, the greatest feud I ever saw was Freddie Blassie vs John Tolos battling over the NWA Americas Heavyweight Championship! A fairly close second would be Bruiser Brody vs Abdullah The Butcher.
I know what you mean about "getting old". I've been a wrestling fan for more than 40 years and some of the people here on Answers don't even know who Rick Steiner is.

Since 1960 I have seen Brute Bernard & Skull Murphy, Lou Thesz, Bruno Sammartino, Antonino Rocca, Haystacks Calhoun, Buddy Rogers, The Fabulous Kangeroos, Bobo Brazil, Verne Gagne, Gorilla Monsoon, Ernie " The Cat " Ladd, Pedro Morales, Killer Kowalski, Dr. Jerry Graham , Judy Grable , Happy Humphries, The Fabulous Moolah , Argentina Apollo, The Destroyer, Dick the Bruiser and a host of others----The first match I saw in person was a tag team match in 1960 when I was 11 years old & saw The Fabulous Kangeroos vs, Brute Bernard & Skull Murphy and I would bet the ranch that 90% of wrestling fans today don't know who 75% of those wrestlers were ?

Unfortunately, being younger, I didn't have the pleasure of watching guys like Harley Race and Bruno Sammartino wrestle while they were still going, but even now, their work really holds up as being some of the best out there. Race especially was one of the best of all time.
Anyway, the first wrestling match I saw involved the Rock and Austin, but that's about all I remember. As I said, haven't been watching long, but I've watched a lot.

I remember watching Harley Race, Bob Backlund, Gorgeous George,
my favorite match was the Roddy Piper versus Greg "The Hammer" Valentine in a Dog Collar chain match, and Roddy ripped off half of The hammers ear

Wow a lot of these answers are from really old school.. I guess Im middle old school still. lol! My first match I saw was Hulk Hogan teaming up with Andre the Giant and they went up against King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd. I think it was one of the first Saturday night's main events on NBC.
That was well over 25 years ago. Im getting old.
