They have racquets with different string tensions, so they switch racquets depending if they want more control, power, or spin. Players also switch if they break the frame or strings.

Pros carry tons of rackets they already have a racket in mind that they want to use and it all depends on how the opponent plays if the player thinks the racket isn't playing good they switch rackets or if they break their strings or get a little angry and smash it on the floor there are a whole bunch of reasons why they carry so many

I would say the only reason they switch so often is for the fact they hit so hard which makes your strings get lose.So instead of breaking your strings on the court they just get a new racket out and play with that one.Plus ever points counts so if someone is serving the ball to you and you hit then break a serve it comes back to you what are u suppose to do then you can't hit if your string is broke

Pros switch rackets many timed mainly depending on their strategies, or maybe a racket just broke a string. For volleying, a lighter racket with a thicker frame is ideal (head ti6). For groundstrokes and aggressive baseline play, a heavier racket, with a thinner frame is ideal (Wilson K Factor). And for balanced play, you want one in between, like the Dunlop 500g (my racket).

The strings breaking are the reason I see most often for change in rackets.

its the strings most o the times but sometimes its because they think its the rackets fault for missing a spot.

You're right. It is usually and mostly because of the strings breaking. As you know as well as I do you cannot play with a broken string.

im a pro tennis player. you string your raquet with tension. the more tension you have, the more control you have. the less tension, the more power. now if you take a player like Sampras, for example, he puts soooo much tension in his raquet that at almost every power shot the strings will pop. so there you go :)

they change rakets because if they break a string on court they lose the point so they dont want that to happen
