It depends on how agreeable the two parties are. I’ve seen divorces that have cost tens of thousands of dollars because the two parties fought over every single issue and dragged it out through the courts much longer than they should have. But if the parties can agree on things, then the cost shouldn't be outrageous (although it still may not be 'cheap').

Divorce is always costly in many ways...
money, emotions, time and i could go on..money wise with a lawyer it cost me 2,500 dollars, family court i heard you have
to be careful what you say so check out how that is before
you go.

well if the lawyer fees dont get you, then losing your home, your car, your kids and the shirt off your back might. Yes it does come with a high price. But sometimes even then its still worth it if the person is a scumbag.
