BALANCE. It's incredibly important to me to keep my scales balanced. Name any even "apparent" duality, & I need to keep them in equal measure. What comes first to mind is logic & emotion. That's a BIG one. Concern for others, & concern for myself. Objectivity & subjectivity.
When I "tilt," I'm totally ambivalant. I'm in conflict. I can't make wise decisions about anything; I'm pulled in two different directions & no good to myself or anyone. It can actually be frightening; I have lost MYSELF. Can one lose more than that?
Since it's so important to me, one would think I could consistently maintain balance, but I can't. At times, something just seems to snap, & the world is upside down. Fortunately, this doesn't last for very long. If I permanently lost balance, yes, I would lose everything.
Edit: All the things mentioned in the other answers: love, integrity, honesty, self respect, hope, dignity, goals...are only possible when one has BALANCE.

Yes and that would probably be my ID or driver's license. I would lose my right to drive and the identity thieves would have a hay day!
Edit: I wrote this before scanning the other answers and realize I took your question superficially. To my above answer I would add self respect.

generally speaking, you can lose the concept of "everything" becuase by missing one thing, you can't have the full experience.
personally speaking...or more so anyway, you can lose sight of everything, because, well, lets just put it this way. there are 2 everythings, to me anyway. one everything is...well, life. then your second everything is that one thing that makes your life important or endurable or simply much more enjoyable. you can never lose all of the first everything, but once you lose your second everything, you lose what's important to you in life, and usually resulting in losing sight of the first everything.
that was a bit confusing....but i hope you understood it. heh. maybe this is what my friend meant by "too vague."

Yes. You'll lose everything when you lose the opportunity to live life because loosing life is loosing the opportunity to love.

There are many 'one' things that will cost you everything. If you lose faith, hope, love, understanding or patience for example. These are just to name a few. The particular details in any given situation depend on the circumstances.

I would say that if I would lose my Self Respect, I would lose everything, I would feel worthless, and nothing would be the same to me.
