Doesn't it bother ANYONE that people give you thumbs down or yell at you when you voice your own opinion about a subject? I mean come on..this is Yahoo! Answers. It was made for opinions, and it really bothers me how people are just so flippin rude.

You need to understand. That sometimes during typing, there is the lack of facial expressions from the person who is answering or even asking the question. So, we all are pretty vulnerable from answering or even asking a question, without the actual body language. Meaning our fingers type something that was not meant to be offensive, yet, someone may find it offensive. Second, opinions are opinions. I agree with your partial question. Yahoo q and a is not made to have an opinion. You can't rant. You will get reported. If you don't agree with a question or find if offensive, I have learned, move on. Don't answer it. There will be times, I rant at a question. I just endure the thumbs down. Sometimes, the truth hurts. I try to avoid cussing at the questions or answers. I would like to cuss, but I digress. Use yahoo q and a very carefully. There are great questions and very great answers on here. Just be cautious when asking or questioning.

Perhaps this is the manifestation of some new philosophy or ethos that is sweeping the globe. Something along the lines of:
Those who will not lend You a hand can only point the finger of blame at You, and adjudicate Your efforts with a 'thumbs up', or a 'thumbs down'?

I don't mind the thumbs down. It means that someone read what I had to say, thought about it, and cared enough about it to offer their opinion. I affected them, and to me that's almost as good as a thumbs up. Everyone has an opinion and they're just as entitled to theirs as I am to mine.

teddy you are not the only one who feels that way yahoo answers set out rules and regulations one of them is to show respect for person,s opinions it would be a shame that people can,t take advantage of a site like this to communicate and learn from each other because the answers and questions can be benifcal

Sometimes the answers are dumb though...like an answer I got once was D. I gave that a thumbs down...it's not even an answer! But I agree, some people do that because they are bored. I wouldn't pay much attention to it.

I wouldnt worry to much what people have to say. For all I know the people that answer the questions more than likely didnt amount to anything in their life anyway. This is their time to pretend to be educated and sound smart.
