game here and everyone said manning got hit by a dump truck!! I hope not!! Peyton is superman!! I cant find anything about it on the internet!

My neighbor called at about 9:30 this eve and said a friend from Methodist Hospital heard that Manning was killed from an accident involving a dumptruck. Channel 8 says this:

"Here's something that puts us in a tough spot. It's a rumor -- a rumor -- about Peyton Manning. Police say it's not true. But, phone calls to our newsroom tell us it's spreading fast among Colts fans. So, we had to discuss whether and how to acknowledge it.
The story begins with the crash of an SUV, today, on the west side of Indianapolis. Police say three black men were in the vehicle at 465 and 70. The rumor mill turned it into Peyton Manning's SUV.
Anthony Calhoun checked with a spokesman for Manning. The spokesman said the story is false.
We've called IMPD and the State Police. Both reject the rumor. A spokesman for the State Police, 1st Sergeant David Bursten, told me: his people contacted the Colts. The team said it doesn't know anything about the so-called story. Bursten said he wishes he could find the source of the rumor and arrest that person for false reporting.
Based on the information we have, we cannot go on the air with rumors and speculation. We chose to acknowledge the rumor here on my blog because of the volume of calls -- and just now -- an e-mail about it. We hope this helps answer the questions until we can find out more about how the rumor started."

I live in Indianapolis, I have heard rumors all evening too. Nothing on the news. I work in a bar and all night peoples cell phones were ringing, everyone saying he was killed. I hope it is not true. If it is they are really trying to keep it under wraps. I would guess so the hospital does not get over crowded with fans and on lookers.

I live in Indianapolis and i dont know about the dump truck stuff but i can tell you that their is talk that peyton was in an accident and was lifelined to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and that they're trying to keep it all under wraps, i dont think we'll really know if its true until tomorrow morning, i pray though it is not true.

I live in Dallas and have heard this rumor as well. Having lived in Indianapolis previously and being a HUGE Colts and Peyton fan, I truely hope this is some sick joke.

My son came home from work and said he heard the same thing. We have been looking on the internet as well. Can't find anything. I hope it's not true, but what a stupid rumor to start.

My aunt works for Methodist Hospital and her co-worker called her and told her that Manning was killed in a serious car accident. I still haven't heard anything other than Channel 8 news saying that it was a rumor...
I'll believe it's a rumor just as soon as I see #18 walking & talking.

The bad new is that the dump truck is really messed up. Its front bumper is all smashed and the windshield is all cracked.
The good news is that Peyton does not have a scratch on him.

Omygosh! ok first of all i live in indy and i just so happen to have the munchies and with my combo # 2 and a quesadilla the lady tells me about this alleged accident. Now i cant find any truth to this allegation. There is NOThing about it. Let's just say I pray it to be false i love that man. :(

yes i did hear it about 6 this evening!!! I was extremely upset!!! Who the hell would start such a rumor??? Channel 6 news said Peyton was just fine......
