Leave it to Mother Nature. She is far more powerful than us puny humans, and she is going to do whatever she wants to regardless of what meager power we think we have to change anything.

Like anything else--check the sources.

For example:

Up until a year ago, Bush insisted that "global warming was unproen." His sources: the opinion of an oil company lobbyist he hired to censor scientific reports.

Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" The sources of his information--made available to the public and easily checked--were scientists qualified in the various fields relevant to the information he presented in the film.

Hmmmmm. . . .I wonder which is more credible?

BTW--we--all of us--HAVE to rey on public figures--either politicians, the news media, or whatever--for information to a considerable degree. The way to know which are reliable is to THINK--and ask some probing questions. For example:
>What are the sources?
>Is this person giving an opinion--or facts?
>Has this person proved to be accurate as to presenting facts in the past?

And--as a final note---it is even MORE important to ask these questions of those who say thng we agree with than of those we don't agree with--because there's a natural human tendancy to believe what we want to hear, and we should all be aware of that and guard against accepting things jsut because that's waht we want to be true.

No. The Government is not good at giving "facts" on anything!
If you really want to know what is going on in global warming, try articles such as that in the October 2007 Popular Science.

Well, who ELSE would you have do it??? Religious "leaders"? Rock Stars? Scientists (who've been warning us about THIS- for 20 years & Nobody's listened)? Movie Stars? Paris Hilton? ...Personally- I think Al Gore is the PERFECT person to be warning us about Global Warming- because he's a respected Private Citizen (& HAS BEEN- since 2001), who's had a long standing interest in promoting Environmental Issues.

Sure, why not? Some people leave it up to Exxon to give us the ""FACTS"" on global warming. IF we are going to trust them, why not trust a politician? While we are at it, we can just trust the devil to, when he says he'll make all of our dreams come true, all we have to do is sign here.

Oh absolutely. Politicians are a totally reliable source of information on any subject. I know this for a fact because a politician told me so.
