As everyone else has said, as long as you are diesies free, and the baby is not on a special diet (like mom can't have peanuts, etc) and it is okay with your friend, there should be no problem with it. But I will have to tell you if you are not lactating and just doing it to give the baby comfort it will more than likely make your nipples very sore.
I acutally have a friend who had a baby not even a year after her mother had her youngest brother. Her mother was able to breastfeed her daughter when she needed to go to work, or when she went out with friends. I breast feed both of my kids and there was many times where I soooo wished I had someone who could do that for me. As some breastfeeding mom's can tell you it's not always easy to pump milk.

Technically yes. The question you should ask is should you. I'm not sure it would be a good idea since so many illnesses are passed through breastmilk. Even if the baby got sick and it wasn't your fault you could get blamed for it or if she wasn't gaing weight. It's kinda like the reason you don't lend friends money, because more often than not it starts fights.

yes as long as both you and her are OK with it. You might find this question I asked interesting (its also about breastfeeding another persons baby). If a close friend asked me to I would. Just as long as your clean of any diseases or any potential drugs or medication that could get into her baby. As well I know that sometimes putting a baby to the breast with milk or not calms them. So if your not lactating but taking care of the baby thats ok 2. Just if your not nursing it might hurt allot. Little babies are like hover's sometimes!

In america that is not really heard of, but it is common in other cultures. Some of the poorer cultures that don't have formula, have to do that. If there is a mother that can't produce or for some other reason is unable to feed, she will give her baby to another nursing mother in the village. Interesting huh? So in answer to your qu...YES!

If your friend wants you to then sure, you can be a wet nurse. As long as you are healthy and make sure you're not taking any medications that could harm her baby.

I would say that would be a personal decision between you and your friend. Yes, it is possible. In the olden days, they had wet nurses (lactating women) as servants or slaves to breastfeed for women who, for some reason or another, did not want to do it themselves.

African-American women did it all the time in the Old South. It was called wet nursing. So yeah, sure.

I think some people today would think it's weird, but if the babies & you aren't sick or have any dietary issues (like a no-dairy diet) then why not?

i agree that its okay
if you both agree beforehand then sure
one time i watched my cousin's daughter who was perhaps a couple of months old at the time.....she jokingly said "nurse her if she gets cranky" ( i was nursing my daughter also)
well of course the baby got cranky....i got desperate and said what the hell and breastfed my little cousin!...she accepted me only very mildly knowing that i was not her mother but it worked enough to calm her until my cousin returned

you can but many people worry about having another person breast feed their child because of bonding issues. Breast feeding is such a personal experience, and promotes bonding between mother and child.
