I love the yellow roses with a hint of pink on the edges of the petals. They are so beautiful! Very fragrant, as well.

I love all colors of roses, but my favorite rose is the Tiffany rose. I think that is because my daughter's name is Tiffany. The Tiffany rose is a beautiful pink with some yellow on the edges of the petals and it has a beautiful sweet fragrance.
That is quite odd, but special that your husband bought you red tulips that night. Good memory I hope.

I love the Peace roses. They are the yellow ones with the pink centers. They smell so good!
What a touching memory for you. I'm sure red tulips always make you think of your husband.

No of course not , he knew you loved them and wanted you to have a good lasting final remembrance of him.
I love peach roses and tulips in purple and deep fuscia.
My dad used to have the most incredible tulip garden in our back yard.

I have a huge rose garden. All colors and all types.
I have three favorites and love them all the same. They are the Mr. Lincoln's for their deep red color and their beautiful buds. Then there's the Moonshadow, a lavender and silver with amazing color. My third favorite is theTropicana which is an orange color, but the bud is the beauty of the flower, it is absolutely perfect. My pinks are beautiful, too.

Unlike Jilly, I adore all kinds of roses, not just the colours but the shapes and textures... They are so sensually satisfying! When I was a kid I used to eat my dad's rose petals... they tasted quite okay!
Oddly though, the rose bush itself is not very attractive, especially when it's been pruned back to bare sticks... But the harder you prune them, the more flowers you get. I'm also concerned that they need so much poison sprayed on them to kill black spot and other diseases.
I've decided not to grow any more as the drought killed all of mine last year... It's too sad.

I love roses, but I guess red would be my favorite. I like to take pictures of roses when I get them in various stages of opening and closing. They are beautiful!

No, justme, not strange....few of us get the chance to leave such a sweet memory when we die.
I like most roses, I just don't put in the time to grow them here in Florida.
My favorites are the multicolored varieties that have yellow and orangey-pink, coral, or apricot mixed in. Like these:
