The leak is small and car is not smoking or overheating? Is it safe to drive and how much something like this cost to analzye & get fixed? approx 88k miles on engine-also seems to have just started when I have had to use defrost/heater since yesterday?

It's definately radiator fluid and appears to be coming from a hose/pipe running under the reservoir/leak seems to be greater than before too (losing about 1/4 of reservoir after driveng approx 30miles)

You need to look at, and smell the "fluid".
It may simply be condensation from the A/C , or a coolant leak.

If it's clear, and has no odor....It's just condensation. Kind of like water beads that build up on a cold Coke can.

If it smells sweet, and is kind of off color, it could be coolant.

If it is dark and slippery it's oil.

I have just fixed a coolant leak on a 2000 Taurus with 66K. It was on the timing cover gasket, close to where you describe. Leak was small, and I could have driven it, but chose to repair.

I suspect that you can drive with care, i.e. carry coolant and check very regularly, until you can get it fixed
