What is so wrong about being selfish?

Sometimes you need to do what's best for you and not other people.

madame blueberry, why do you consider it hateful not to go to someones wedding?

the reason i am selfish is people don't care about me, so why care about them in return. im not hurting. i am sick of people judging me so i don't associate with them.

It is apparent to me from the tone of your questions that you are indeed, selfish, and full of hate and emotional torment.

You probably will not get the validation you want here, because you are angry and you want people to be angry right along with you, and mostly the people here are kind hearted and caring.

If you really don't give a crap about anyone else but yourself, why spend your time asking our opinions? I suspect that you really do care what people think, but for some reason your defense is so high that you would rather hurt people than have them hurt you. It is a defensive mechanism, doubtlessly from being abused and feeling unloved and misunderstood.

You need help, seriously. You are hurting inside, but you can be healed.

EDIT:
I don't consider it hateful to not go to someone's wedding, per se. But I have read your other posts and you are hateful. But if you don't go to other people's celebrations (graciously) then don't expect others to help you celebrate your good times.

There has to be a limit to selfishness.
Yes, you need to be selfish in a way of looking after yourself, because if you don't do that, nobody else will.
However, when selfishness turns into arrogance and you start unnecessarily hurting people, then it's not okay.

I guess it would be okay to be a little selfish every once in a while, but you really need to give some consideration for other people.

It is your responsibilty to care for youself first. It's not really a matter of selfishness and even a little of that is fine.

yah it can happen to the most of us, with out even realizing it
but if all you ever do is care only for yourself, whats the point? only do what you feel in yourself it right, like don't try to change who you are to impress someone else
cuz in the end, you'll only feel less satisfied with who you are

One strives for equal parts of self and others. It isn't easy , but if one tries that gets them a star!

You can take care of yourself, without ignoring the needs of others.... it is a fine line, but can be done

It's okay to be selfish at times, but try not to overdo it.
