I heard that they both use an eastern grip for their forehand. Just wondering if it's true. Also, would it be a good idea to change to an eastern grip? It seems more solid.

Commentators have suggested that Federer uses a modified Semi-western grip most of the time. He is such a tennis genius that he doubtless changes his grip to accommodate balls of different heights and pace. Sampras used an Eastern grip almost exclusively.

An Eastern grip is considered somewhat old-fashioned ( I use it ) by modern players since they can get more spin using a Semi-Western or Western grip which you have to hit more in front of you and earlier.

The easy moneys is going to on either Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic. I'm actually surprised Nadal hasnt done better on the slower hard courts of the Australian Open. i believe his best showing is a quarterfinals appearance. despite the opinion that some have in that he doesnt win on hard courts,,,i actually think he is very good on hard courts, but seems to wear down at the end of the year. Hopefully he has enough rest and his knees are better and then I dont see any reason he cant at least reach the finals. Djokovic has an excellent chance as well. Last year, he showed me a lot and i think he should be able to reach the semis. He also has a legitimate chance in beating Nadal as well as Federer. Big serve. big forehand. great movement. Not sure about conditioning which is what he will need to last 2 weeks in the Australian summer. as for a dark horse...i will go with Hewitt. i dont think he will win it, but he should be recovered from his injuries and arguably the freshest competitor in the event. Also, he will have the backing of his countrymen and will be pumped to win for his fans.
