There are over 200 million guns in the hands of American citizens. Most of my friends have guns and are competent with them. I have 33 guns myself, bolt action hunting rifles with scopes, semi-automatic rifles, 3 Glocks, and a few other kinds of guns. Most of our soldiers knew how to shoot before they joined our military, and the families they come from have armed members.Don't assume Americans won't fight when they see a threat. The only problem so far is Americans think our country is immune to the danger islamofascists pose to the civilized world. When America realizes the seriousness of the threat, we will rise and defeat it like we have all other threats, and we will be as violent as we think we have to be in putting down this threat. America will rise as soon as enough of us wake up and smell the jihad. I smelled it years ago...

First of all 1 billion muslims is identifying muslims as a cohesive usable group that could fight against us. They're not. They are hopelessly divided and fight over everything. To use your logic, there are 2 billion Christians who could fight those Muslims. See why it wouldn't work?
Second of all, we can't handle a small nations occupation. That is far different than in engaging in an all out war with a nation state. We'd be quite good at that. Occupations are rarely successful unless brutal tactics are employed.
Our biggest problem isn't our enemies, it's oursevles. We're becoming increasingly lazy, ignorant and decadent. People who are willing to work for it (ie China) will eventually outdo us.

Mmmmm. For example, Mr. Putin, being a former KGB executive, has a keen feeling about the U.S.'s strength and weaknesses.
1. The U.S. has no way to get more morrons who want to go to Afghanistan or Iraq.
2. The U.S. has no way to deploy, field-proven and high-tech warefare systems in those areas. They're still, at least, 10 years away and take about 50% of the budget for development.
3. The U.S. has a paranoid president who will throw billions, and if needed, trillions of dollars away on a pet project.
4. The U.S. has a uncontrolled Fed who will print money "on demand" for funding dangerous wars.
5. The enemy is determined (call it religious ignorance).
6. Has the U.S. ever, ever, won a war (even a small one?).
7. The U.S. has an "innocent" (call them rednecks) population.

To me, the most disturbing part of your question was:
we believe we are entitled to having someone pay $500,000 in health care to keep us alive for one or two years longer.
Why, in the name of all reason should health care be so expensive?
To your question; I don't worry about Islam attacking us conventionally. If they did, we would, no doubt, win in a very short time

Americans are not unwilling to fight...we just arent willing to fight without cause........A majority of Americans have supported and continue to support the war in Afghanistan, count me among them, my only gripe is that we didnt oput enough resources there to get the job done.....now if a president wants to lead us into a fight against a country that did not pose a threat....we will show our displeasure....you are confusing our refusal to support a BAD foreign policy with an unwillingness to fight

Dude, relax. Most Muslims are disgusted by the actions of this minority of militant freaks. The real problem is our government's imperialist policy, how we think we have the right to go in a take what we want from other nations, and tell them how to live. Oh, and our refusal to notice that thousands of Palestians have been killed and made homeless and lives destroyed by the racist policy of Israel's right wing govt. Seems its the leaders of these countries causing the problems! But as for terrorists, they are a minority. I would vote for someone who is a interesting in making our country better before sticking our nose in someone else's business. We have more prisons than schools in the US. That's something to worry about!

No nation can fight a war against a sixth of Humanity. We must distinguish between our enemies and allies. We cannot fight a global religion. Its like fighting Catholicism or Prostestantism

It's not your aptitude but your attitude that determines your altitude.
Americans have a bad attitude about the world and a superiority complex. If Americans came down off their pedestal and led by example, instead of wacking people over the head and taking their stuff and hating on immigrants for doing jobs that they clearly don't want...they'd stand a chance of coming out ahead in all this...but as things stand... as you point out, Americans are probably doomed.

The one billion Muslims aren't militant. Just some are. Don't worry. Terrorism as a form of attack does not succeed in the long run.
