Quite possibly, or more accurately there might be shared perceptions, but they are all conceptual, and might more accurately be called the mass-subjective However, we have no actual proof that we all see the world exactly the same way, or that there even is an external world other then our own perceptions. Everything we percieve is entirely subjective, as we have no frame of reference to test this input against, other then the already existing framework we have built based on induction and our own brand of rational thought. The only things that might be considered truly objectice are concepts with a finite, or better yet specific, universal meaning and application. Such as numbers. We can all objectivly know 2. Or 4. Objectively knowing that Sydney opera house is in Australia is another matter altogether. So there may be an objective reality, but if that is the case then either we can't see it or it is existant purely in concept. The main problem is that whatever may really be going on, we have only our own perceptions, and can't prove anything outside of them.

Yes there is...it's called God. When you view life and the world through what he has to say about stuff...presuming of course that he's the creator, omniscient, omnipresent, and all the rest, there is an objective reality. If everyone was just left to their own subjective reality and whatever they wanted, then there would be no moral absolutes or standards, and everyone would be killing each other off. Most of our laws today, are in some way connected to or derived from God's laws in the Bible, which makes a really fascinating study. Order and an objective reality is essential to human survival and welfare. Otherwise we are just a pack of animals.

no. we create what we see, feel, hear in our own minds according to the stimuli our senses receive. Also, "reality"
is constantly changing so there can be no objective reality
from one moment to the next. Some things take longer to change and give an impression of an objective reality.
It is just, more or less, a comforting illusion.

EFW is absolutely correct and is the only person who answered you to the extreme point. I can only hope to state what he said a little more simply.
Consciousness is consciousness OF SOMETHING.* That something is objective reality. What you perceive OF objective reality is subjective reality. Subjective reality is the proof that you exist in objective reality.

What do you mean when you refer to Objective Reality? It can be defined as that what exists with or without human acknowledgment. Objective Reality encompasses everything that exists in the universe that we, as human beings, are aware of or unaware of.

Another way to think of it is to consider Subjective Reality.....that part of Objective Reality that manifests itself to the human mind. Our sensory organs accept only a very limited range of objective stimuli provided by Objective Reality.

Our eyes can see only a very limited spectrum of electromagnetic radiation; our ears respond only to a very small band of vibrations; our temperature sensors cover only a very narrow band of temperatures. Subsequently, our psychological filters process our sensory input. The human mind perceives these filtered events as Subjective Reality.

In a few words, Objective Reality is the totality of all that exists with or without human acknowledgment.

Yep, there is...You can experience or remember it anytime you feel a strong inner or outer stimulus, like being hungry, or thirsty, or sleepy, etc... Many philosophers throughout history have tried to deny reality and elaborate on another reality, one which cannot be perceived nor measured, least made clear for everybody...Those lying (or mistaken) philosophers are known by many names, but they're all, in essence, offsprings of the same breed: they're idealists: they despise the only reality we can be actually certain of in order to try to prove the existence of subjective experiences, or alternative realities, which are also known by different names: god, perfect society, perfect state, etc...
One of their arguments is that senses deceive people...Well, yes, senses do deceive people OCCASSIONALLY, but they're the best and only tool we have to reach some knowledge of the world we live in.

Observation doesn't affect reality, it affects our Perception of reality.

For instance when people saw the sun passing from East to West they thought that the sun orbited the Earth. Their beliefs didn't affect reality. Today some of what we belief is reality isn't right, that's life. Its why we can alway continue to enjoy learning (and why we always have to stay humble :( ).

i don't think so...

i don't think there can be any ABSOLUTE objective reality.

reality could only be as objective as you perceive it!

or...

if you allow it, as objective as other people tells you so. (but who's to say that their perception of reality is not as subjective as yours)

so, NO there is no such thing as REALLY OBJECTIVE reality!

the further you get in to quantum mechanics and string theory and M theory in physics, the less objective reality seems to be.
