I'm a sophmore in high school but I can't stop thinking about college. As for grades, im in AP classes (a year above in math and science) and have mostly As but a few Bs in my classes. Oh, and I'm not in the top 10%, more like 20%, but I go to a high school rated one of the top 100 in the nation, so hopefully that will be taken into account. I also do a few extracurriculars, cross country and student council, but not a whole lot. I'm really serious about getting into a good college, and I'd appreciate your help. Thanks!

you probably will. its too soon to tell becuase u have to take SATs as well.
maybe after junior year u could get into the top 10 or top 15%. even so i think u could get in.
its good ur thinking about college. i didnt think of it until the end of my junior year. i used to not care about school. so i sucked my sophomore year. I was thinking of just going to a community college but then my junior year i suddenly changed and brought my 81 average to an 90 which for me that was great. My overall GPA is only an 85 but to get a 90 in my junior year that was pretty cool. so now im trying for 4 year schools. but i wish i tried harder in 10th grade.
so basically dont give up and definetlly work hard!~

Yes you can likely get into NYU, but it is ery overpriced and you probably will not get a free ride. I would look into the SUNY schools (if you are a NYS resident) for your undergrad and save NYU for graduate.

you'll need leadership in those activities and you'll need to nip those b's in the bud, but otherwise, you're definetly on the right track. i can't imagine you'll be rejected.

don't get too caught up in NYU. there are so many colleges just as awesome and in warmer locations.

It is too early to tell.

You still have two years to improve your rank in class. Stop worrying so much about two years from now & concentrate on now.
