Yes, there are 8 worlds. This is my favorite Mario game of all time.

The raccoon suit has a secondary function, Press down and B(or somthing like that) and you will become a statue impervious to enemy attacks. The cloud is used to ascend to higer areas. So if you see a Lakitu then there is probably a secret high up.
