I love to read and could list a zillion books that I love, but the book that comes to mind as the best book that I have read in the last couple of years is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which naturally I just read so maybe that's why it sticks out so much.

3. Inkheart (very interesting idea, books coming to life)
4. The Confessions of Georgia Nicholson series (HILARIOUS)
5. Coraline, by Neil Gaiman (TERRIFIC author, great book)

"Fables for our Times" ~ James Thurber.
ex: "Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?" Actually, this was a cartoon caption in the New Yorker Magazine.
I enjoy Ogden Nash and Thornton Wilder also.
