It varies from state to state and it depends on the stage of pregnancy. It's less expensive to have a medical abortion than it is to have a surgical one. I believe a medical abortion can range from $200-$400 and surgical abortions from $300-$700. Most insurance companies cover elective abortions so it would cost less if you're insured.

Edit:
I have to wonder if those of you who are so quick to condemn anyone who would consider abortion are the same who point fingers and sneer at welfare mothers, calling them unfit parents. You can't have it both ways. If you can't trust a kid with a choice, how can you possible trust them with a child of their own?

It might cost your life, as well as your child s. Love yourself enough to keep both of you safe. There is help out there; whatever your situation, however lonely, frightened and trapped you are feeling, having an abortion will not make things better: it may give you temporary relief, but it will wound you in ways you cannot imagine. Love yourself enough!

Abortions should be free. They are a medical procedure, nothing more.
If you are all kinds of religious and worried about babies, go adopt a living breathing one. Stop making women feel guilty for controlling their own bodies.

OK, so there are a bunch of Bible thumpers here... I don't think it's wrong to get rid of an unwanted baby if you SERIOUSLY don't want it. Like, seriously. If it was unprotected and you're just being irresponsible, you're weird. But if it wasn't your fault then don't worry about it.
Also, it costs about 300-600$ depending on the month you're on.

Instead ask yourself
"What shall I name my child?"
"How shall I thank God with this beauty and love that God has sent me?"
AND PLEASE ask yourself, "will I regret the hug from my child, the kisses, the big eyes looking up at me?"
I have 3 kids and I love love love them. They never came at what I thought was the convenient time. OH WELL. They are real, flesh and blood, human beings. Their souls are created at the moment of conception.
If your boyfriend or husband doesn't WANT the child then leave him! LIFE comes first. Allow them to breathe the air you breathe please!
By the way I used to be a strong prochoice woman but then I logged on to that abortion website which shows pictures of what really happens during an abortion. UGh!
NOw I know that abortion sucks...sucks the life right out of you!
What do you think Jesus Christ would say to you right now?
What do you think Martin Luther King would say to you right now? Do you know that the woman(Roe) in Roe vs. Wade has actually changed her belief? She is an avid pro-lifer!
Imagine that!
Alright look. Go to confession, go to church , thank God for your gift, remember that you're not the first female to go through pregnancy.
Eat right and don't smoke. Keep yourself healthy and someday your child will grow and say, "I love you mom."

It depends on where you live. Call a local clinic and ask them.
Here in Charlotte, NC it is about 300 for the surgical abortion and 400 and something for the pill!

I don't understand the negative to the suggestion of placing a baby up for adoption. There are lots of couple struggling with infertility that would be thrilled to take an unwanted baby.
