We have reg classes, spec ed., reading recovery, reading resource, spec ed resouce teachers, esl, fsl, ,core, gifted--all free of charge, with qualified teachers. This is in Ontario--so my question is ---does your son want to pass--or are you going to hammer on the education system for all your son's faults?

According to federal special ed law IDEA, ALL children who first recieve an IEP plan (special ed) are to be in regular ed class with other kids and have a special ed teacher in the room to help the child, along with a reg ed teacher for the reg ed kids.
If the child does not improve in this situation, THEN the child is to be moved to a room with all sped kids.
Schools think they are above the law and with good reason, there is no one to enforce them to follow the laws and they never will.
The child is suppose to be placed in the setting that helps him to succeed, and not just be put somewhere for administrative convience.

Inclusion model does not fit all kids- fight for what your child needs.
Several district in AZ are full inclusion. Doesn't always work.
