Man Utd did that whole trade thing and traded away Rossi for Tevez. That in my opinion was ONE of the most stupidest decisions Ferguson ever made. I'm a huge Man U fan and that was absolutely retarded. Rossi was a wonderful prospect and United wasted money to bring in Tevez who has to take time to fit it? Why couldn't have just molded Rossi into a perfect striker and played him along side Rooney? What do you think? Tevez or Rossi?

obviously, fergie is an admirer of tevez and believes that the argentine has better skills than rossi. indeed, it would make more economic sense to just mould rossi. but you can't just resist going after a proven world class talent in tevez. when fergie got his man, he knew he had to get rid of one because he has 3 strikers with too similar qualities - rooney, tevez and rossi. and we all know the end of the story.

I agree with r083r70v about Tevez
He has a lot more experience than Rossi at the moment.
I followed Tevez's career since his days at Boca Juniors and he is a very good player. Brings a lot more than Rossi.
Rossi wouldn't even make the first team at United to be sincere and to develop a great player, they need in game experience. Hence why he was constantly on loan.
You couldn't foresee all the striker injuries United has had before this deal was made by the way.

But don't call United completely stupid either, a clause was added to Rossi’s Villarreal contract that allows Manchester United to repurchase him at a later date. They know he is a bright prospect and is proving that right now in La Liga.
So he could be a Red Devil once again.

United sold Rossi and bought Tevez.
Tevez has already proved himself to be a world class striker, Rossi is still young and developing and it is possible that he may not become a world class player.
The reason this happened is because we need proven world class strikers at Manchester United right this very moment, and Rossi would possibly find the pressure of being a first team/squad player too much too handle in his current stage of development. it could have broken him.
I am not about to question the decision of the greatest manager in the history of English football but I understand your point.

Giuseppe who? LOL... just joking....
Rossi might become a good player, but Tevez has proven achievement in club level (with Corinthians and Boca Juniors) and international level (in World Cup with Argentina). About his duet with Rooney, I can't say much but I think Ferguson would better buy goal-poacher type striker just like Fernando Torres or Didier Drogba who is strong and has good aerial ability.
