I usually ask the person who serves food what the food with an unpronounceable name is. I always ask for opinions on a food's taste or palatability. It is sometimes adventurous to try other food aside from the usual fare I eat or order in a restaurant. Who knows that behind an ugly or unpronounceable name waits a delicacy that is truly exotic and tasteful?

I can't think of any food I can't pronounce, but I will not eat things like bugs, snails, frog legs or things that have tentacles on them. I also don't care for overly smelly foods. Other than that...I'll eat Italian, French, Caribbean, Chinese, Polish, I haven't explored Indian cuisine yet.

Yes. Most fancy foods (the French ones) are difficult to pronounce and yet I eat them. :)

But I do try to read the menu very well and "dissect" each ingredient to be sure that I will not eat something that will upset my stomach.

Look at the ingredients on alot of stuff and you'll find many things you cant pronounce and/or things you have no idea what the hell they are. but that doesnt stop you from eating them

Yeah, just because I can't pronounce it, doesn't mean it's not going to be good.

yeah, as long as you know the ingredients and it looks good, then why not? sometimes you have to be adventurous.
