Anyone else share my pain? I made a 1/2 sheet cake..spent about three hours making this beautiful decorated cake from scratch. It wasn't for any special occassion but it was for us. I just went in there so the kids can have piece after they just ate and the entire center of the cake was cut out and gone!!!

He fully admits to it but the stranger thing is..I've been home with him all day and he wasn't alone at all...How and when did he pull this off?

...and is eating the center of the cake grounds for divorce!

Wow, I'm not sure how he pulled that one off, but that sure was rude of him. Bless your heart. I know what it is like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen working on a project like that. It's stressful and you want to get it just right and you "sure" don't want someone coming along to mess it up. I think he should have respected you more on this for sure and I would have been very upset with him over it. Sounds like you need to tell him that if it doesn't have his name on it to keep his hands off, then use icing to write his name in the very corner, lol. Sorry, I am not meaning to make light of this situation. I would have been mad too. I wonder how he would like it if you smeared your fingers all over something he just painted...yeah, I can just imagine how well that would go over.

Good job on being a good mom and being good to your kids like that! I am the same way...love pleasing my family. Good luck to you and next time you will probably be guarding that cake with your life, but hopefully he will respect you more next time too. Take care.

His mom probably allowed him to do this as a child. It is tender and sweet in the middle of a cake.

When he does things like this, ask yourself "do I want to live with a husband or a cake?" In other words, the cake is unimportant. Don't let things like this become a BIG thing in your marriage.

(hint: next time hide the cake, Christmas gift, birthday gift, and etc.)

Well.......men.....men.....men.....you can't live with em' and you just can't shoot em' !!!! This is no grounds for divorce, but a great time to have some fun !! The world would be boring without them. Next time set him up !!! Bake the cake and put a color dye in the middle (one that will not fade away when it is eaten). That way you can catch the thief red handed......or should I say......red lipped !!! That would be funny !!! Let me know how it turns out !!!

If my wife put in the labor and made a cake like you described, I wouldn't touch It until she said so, because I would have no Idea why she made It In the first place!

What I can gather from the information provided, I conclude that he did It because he took you for granted.

Men can be loving, supporting, brilliant... dense, insane, and vexing. I look at it this way... In marriage, we can embrace the things that drive you crazy, or you can want to get divorced over a cake, socks on the floor, or the dishes!

Choose to view this as a good story to share, and as an endearing quirk... otherwise, pack his bags - with cake!!!

LOL that's funny! He's a real slick one to be able to pull that off. My husband does all his annoying things right in front of me. But my husband is a culinary genius he would never commit such an act on a beautiful desert.

Its dissapointing , but not grounds for divorce! As someone else said, at least it was enjoyed. I cook around here and no one eats my food- they go to macdonald's.
ps. I'm a good cook who has won awards for my cooking in the past. I live in ahousehold of junk food addicts.

At least your cake stood tight. My wife just baked hers and it fell apart.
I told her why don't you try following the instructions next time.
That was a waste of three eggs. She owes me!

LOL, literally...
I thought my husband was the only one who did that! Mine says he does it because it's the softest part- and he wants to get it before he gets left with the ends. I think personally, that t has more to do with the fact that little boys never truly grow up- they just get bigger...
