GM/Pontiac stop production of the f-bodied cars (Firebird and Camaro) in 2002. Chevrolet will be the first to re-release the Camaro in 2008-09 and, for those with a few extra green in the bank, you can place a pre-order for yours.

No, not since the 2002 model year, and GM Chairman Bob Lutz has been quoted as saying that Pontiac will not produce a Firebird again. It's not in line with the image that GM wants associated with the Pontiac brand.

No, the f-body(Camaro and Firebirds) was dis-continued back in 02. But, w/ the new concept Camaro coming back out the 1st qtr. of 09. The Firebird/TransAm may not be far behind it. Thro, there is no ferm plans to place the Firebird back into production. Car and Driver say it may just happen as early as 2010.
