physical and mental, victimization and abuse....if this has happened constistantly throughout your life, can your extreme low self esteem and inner rage and anger be successfully treated?
back when i was bullied, i didnt fight back, i let them do it, so to this day, years later, i still feel outrage and am fighting the victimizers still. i still have flashbacks.
i feel the anger went bottled up and supressed.
now im 30 years old with borderline personality disorder, trying to work on getting well so i can accomplish happiness and life goals

it's hard, it takes time and it's a daily fight, but that's what your doing anyways, so it's just a matter of making a mental 90 degree turn, from the negative to the positive. Go for it, you can't make it any worse, time, my friend, is the greatest healer of all, the one thing you've got a lot of. Somehow you think that fighting back would have saved you, this is not true, fighting mentally and/or physically throughout your life would have brought you the same devastation, that is the reality of bullying and abuse, it interferes with the normal or should i say natural thinking process in kids and young adults, older adults can suffer it to but this usually falls under trauma. There's a whole lot of hope and no reason in the world you can't be happy or achieve your goals. You got to understand that bullying is also a form of brainwashing, just like any cult, they target your mind/self esteeme, you need to duplicate that target, attack by defending, by training your mind to "Scream, Stop" every single time a negative thought starts to invade, this is the enemy, not you. Think of something positive, even if it's going for a walk, sucking back some fresh air, deep breathing increases brain cells which help. Try volunteering or helping out some seniors or anything worth while, this will help with positive self esteeme, but you keep up the mental barbwire, you have the ability and wepons to keep the enemy out, make no mistake this is war, you have what it takes too win. Out here, there's an invisible army fighting the same enemy, the same battle, we are winning, we have our hero's, who've tasted victory and so shall we.

Yes. First, self esteem is a mental sickness so you want to do away with that and work at achieving Unconditional Self Acceptance. Check out Dr. Albert Ellis PhD. of the Albert Ellis Institute online. He has many good books and CD like "Anger how to live with and without it" "Controlling your Anger before it controls you" and many others. REBT will give you the tools to work out the irrational thoughts that keep you having "flashbacks."
Second take some martial art class. Why you didn't fight back? and you are now beating yourself up for not fighting back. Martial arts will give you the knowledge and ability to fight back if needed and a sense of control the power to not be victimized again.
Also why didn't you fight back? Be honest with yourself. Was their much else you could do?
Don't "try" to get well, get well. Like Nike "just do it."
Good Luck

Yes.......this is treatable.
You have already taken the first difficult step in wanting help....be proud of yourself for that. Finding a good counselor is the key. You can ask your family Dr. to suggest a counselor. Also you may hear of a good counselor from word of mouth.
Most all cities, towns have a battered women's shelter and free counseling. Look in your phone book or on line for one in your area. There are counselors answering the phones 24 hours a day.
You will find happiness, peace and accomplish your life goals.
God Bless You.

Low self esteem is of its holding u back from stuff. For example if ur nervous to go to class becuz "oh maybe my hair is messy" then thats low self esreem. Everyone thinks themselves as low. I bet even super models think once in a while "oh my body can be better" and stuff. But u said ur social so dont worry bout it.

Yes you can, but the feelings will surface every once in a while, so you'll need training on how to recognize it. It will also help if you have people who will be around you for a long time and able to cue you when you are backsliding. Good luck, you deserve it.

its hard to move on...but if you really wanted to overcome your fear, try not thinking of your past, definetely the dark side of your past..think positively..think of the happiness you encountered day by day...everytime you feel that its flashing back just say this words to your self "im tought" "past is past"...be strong, and dont think negative to your self..identify the positive side of you....it will help...

hmm this sounds like me, but I'm 17... I barely ever get mad, and I'm picked on at school all the time... It gets really ugly when I do get pissed... I explode and can't control myself...
