There is a line from a film called Dangerous Liaisons that i use regularly. It is a period drama with Glenn Close and John Malkovitch playing the leads.Glenns character wants her lover played by John to seduce a young girl played by Michelle Pfieffer and get her to fall in love with him for a bet.He does so but falls in love with her too and knows he will lose the affection of Glenn's character and the bet so he battles with his feelings and ends up breaking Michelle's characters heart. She has no idea that she is a bet and when he tries to break it off with her he does it very cruelly by repeating "It is beyond my control"everytime she pleads with him to stay.As the film progresses John is eaten up with love and guilt but his ego and his need for Glenn to continue wanting him and to win the bet overtake his own feelings. He calls on Michelle for one last time as the bet is almost in his favour and she comes running thinking he really loves her only to be struck by him across the face whilst saying"It is beyond my control"when she is hysterically pleading with him to stay.It all ends tragically with Johns death.I use this phrase jokingly when i have done something wrong or by mistake.
Today when my daughter asked why i spend so much time on the laptop I simply said"It is beyond my control"...hee hee.

This would be great......

There's a passage I got memorized, seems appropriate for this situation: Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great
vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

"I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow... After all, tomorrow is another day" - Scarlett in Gone With the Wind (2 different points in the movie)

I often think these lines in my head when I am already crazy busy and my boss wants something right away. :-)

"I am William Wallace. And I see a whole army of my countrymen,
here in defiance of tyranny! You have come to fight as free men. And
free man you are! What will you do without freedom? Will you fight?"
"Two thousand against ten?" - the veteran shouted. "No! We will
run - and live!"
"Yes!" Wallace shouted back. "Fight and you may die. Run and you
will live at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now,
would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for
one chance, just one cahnce, to come back here as young men and tell
our enemies that they may take our lives but they will never take
our freedom!"
