Ok I'm writing a book and I need to explain why this ex-military pilot owns two cargo planes at a local privet air-strip.

So I just need a deceit plausible explanation for this- and it would be preferably that it isn't something like drug smuggling. etc.

any ideas? Thanks.

How about his old uncle was a veteran war pilot and took an interest in fixing up old planes (like some people do older cars) and he left them in his will to your pilot since this unlce was a bachelor and had no kids.

OR the private air strip is near the border with another country and the planes used to be used for aid transport (tents, food, water etc) to the refugees in that country, but now the problems are over and no one has taken the planes back away.

OR He won them in a poker game. . .

He's got some money and when he comes across a "steal of deal" buys it. (he's somewhat like a pack rat). He not only has cargo planes he also has other "off the wall" items, like old boats, run down shacks on beautiful island etc. The guy who owns the air-strip and him are childhood friends who took different paths in life but know and love each other like brothers.

Maybe one is the cargo plane his father flew. Or maybe there was a two for one deal. Or maybe he knew the guy that made them, or maybe he flew one in a air show and so did his buddy and his buddy died in his with a heart attack or something and he kept them both. Or maybe he saved the life of some rich guy in the war and the rich guy asked him what he wanted and he said, as a joke, I want two cargo planes and the next month they were sitting in the air strip waiting for him. Or maybe he was testing them for the government and the government decided that they were not what they wantd and instead of scrapping them he bought them real cheap. Or maybe you come up with your own damn explination.
That last one was a joke. I really had fun doing some or maybe's gimme more!!!
and tell me if you like any of them.
