My question is are they any video games that have the same object for todays gaming systems. I have the original microsoft xbox is there any racing games that are pretty close to gran turnismo? Thanks for your answers.

Gran Turismo is without a doubt the best racing game ever, hands down. The second one was just as good. After that, they changed the angles at which you could drive and it was more difficult to see.
Try Project Gotham Racing.

pgr is the closest i can think of (i have x360 and a ps1 with gran turismo, but i have yet to get any pgr games) It is still the closest i can think of.
