What in your opinion is the hardest thing in hockey? In my opinion, I would say puck good handling skills and deking

the reason my question is titled ladadadadada is because i thought it was interesting enough.
oh and I agree skating might be something hard, but with puckhandling while skating and deking around people and getting a good shot off, i would say that's harder.

Skating Backwards effectively. This is the answer most NHL players will give you. Most of them never learn it.

Watch Chris Pronger, Nicklas Lidstrom, Marek Zidlicky............all are excellent backwards skaters.

Then watch Bryan McCabe, and you'll notice a huge difference

Those individuals who dismiss hockey as boring have obviously not laced on a pair of skates. Listen if you find a frozen lake you can play football with a pair of skates on...great idea actually....LITY has nailed it. Once you master skating ,skating backwards is another skill altogether..especialy on your week side.
Good insight dude. Goalies will tell you how difficult it is to skate backward. That's why you see so many goals scored on goalies when they venture to far out of their crease. To those Californians I suggest you buy a pair of skates and go for a swim..better yet try the backstroke.

I think it's putting up with the idiots who can't understand the game is pretty tough. It's not that hrd to get. Fewer rules than baseball and more action in one period than an entire NFL game. In hockey the clock only runs while the game is being played.
As far as playing the game is concerned, try playing net. First you have to have a screw loose for even trying and then you have to keep moving into the path of a shot when every fibre of your being is telling you to duck.

The hardest thing in hockey, I think is making people give a damn about hockey.
I just can't understand the appeal of the sport. Don't get me wrong, every night fans always pack Staples Center to watch our God awful Kings take on any team that easily beats them up.
But I just find it so boring, repetitive, and I can't tell one player apart from the other on the ice.
It's just not that interesting.
