i went out to eat with my mother day. I have been trying to eat more healthy and so i got a salad instead of fries. the waitress came over with a small bowl. in the bowl it had lettuce, a piece of tomato, not cut up or anything, and than a ring of onion and than nothing else. Now i am not a real picky person, but i do not consider that a salad. more like a tiny bowl of lettuce with one piece of lettuce and a piece on onion. I asked for them to take it back and asked for fruit instead. They told me that it was ok to switch. than they charged me 5 bucks for the "salad" I did not notice that until after i left and looked at the recipet. should i call and complain or let it go.

That "salad" is way overpriced. Iceburg only costs 99 cents for an entire head of lettuce. Unreal!!! You, my dear, have been ripped off.

yes, let them know that you were told you could exchange and then still charged for the salad which you weren't satisfied with. I have been to a place that served "salads" like that, only they threw a pickle on top. It really was like they took the dressing from a burger and threw it into a bowl as al salad.

It would be best to take your business elsewhere. Let it go.

If you are strongly considering eating healthy salads, Fresh Choice, Sweet Tomatoes, or Whole Foods Market would be the best choice in dining out next time.

Yes, just call and speak to the manager. Explain what happened just like you told us, and you will more than likely get a free salad or maybe a meal?? I wouldn't be all crazy mad, remember you catch more flies with honey than vinegar!

Complain. Sounds like burger toppings in a bowl.

Any time you call to complain it helps them understand where they messed up and you ALWAYS get either your money back or a free meal. Go ahead, call them... You only get when you ask... Plus it's okay to do as long as you don't get upset, just be honest and think of it as a learning experience for them...

From what you described I don't consider it a salad! Go back to the restaurant and talk to the manager about it.

Well, technically it is a salad, but have every right to complain if the meal wasn't to your satisfaction, good luck.

well, yes, it IS a salad.
it isn't MUCH of a salad, but it does count as a salad.

you can complain that that was a pitiful excuse for a salad, but they probably already know that.
