I'm wondering what other birds crow at dawn besides a rosster. Because we are hearing a bird every morning at dawn but it doesn't sound like a rooster. Also to Peacock's crow at dawn?

It could be several birds making noise at dawn. Peacocks do make a cry or a shriek that carries a long way. Another noisy bird is a guinea. The female makes a cry like buck-wheat or put-wheat. The male makes a different loud scream. They roost at night and wake up at dawn the same as chickens. Another crowing bird is the pheasant. The male pheasant crows to find a mate. The Kansas Dept. of Wildlife keeps track of the crowing of male pheasants to determine the numbers of pheasants available for the hunting season. Pheasants are usually crowing in the spring and this is autumn so it is probably not a pheasant. There are mimicking birds. The magpie and the parrot will mimic the sound of a rooster and it will not quite sound the same but close enough to realize that you heard crowing. Once in a great while a hen will start to crow like a rooster. This usually happens when there has been a rooster in a flock that was protective and warned his hens of trouble with warning crows. If the rooster disappears a hen may take over this duty to the flock. Her crow isn't usually as loud or quite right, but it is a type of crowing.
