I live in fairfield county towards NY and I'm from NYC (therefore a lifelong diehard yankees fan) and as far as I can tell its a yankees state. there are some red sox fans down here but not NEARLY as many yankees fans.

Actually It should be a Red Sox State because it's New England but it's more 60% Red Sox and 40% Yankees... I'd say the Right 60% is Red Sox and the right 40% is Yankees. Most people say 50/50 though.

Lifelong NH resident, Not a Sox fan.
My own experience showa that it depends in which part of Conn you are in. Did a business trip to New London couple of years ago and found that loyalties are pretty much split down the middle in that area. Go east or north, Red Sox; go west, Yankees

easily that is going to be a purple Sox State because that is New England although that is more suitable 60% purple Sox and 40% Yankees... i might want to assert the right 60% is purple Sox and the right 40% is Yankees. maximum individuals say 50/50 regardless of the truth that.

I was raised smack in the middle of the li'l suburb state -- ohhhh, 1978 was a riotous season.

If you draw a rough arc from Danbury into Waterbury and down to New Haven, that's about as good a dividing line as you'll get -- and of course it isn't sharp, there's fans of both teams scattered about (with Mets fans looked upon piteously as deranged cousins who shouldn't be given sharp objects). Most of the state has the good sense to back the Sox, but there is significant Yankee encroachment down in Fairfield County.

I've lived in New London CT (originally from PR) and while being there I grew up to be a Yankees fan and a Patriots fan. But I would say is 50/50.

It's technically a Red Sox State, but where I live in, I'm 28 miles from New York and 83 or so miles from Massachusetts.
