I am 36weeks 4days pregnant and I keep getting like a stinging, burning sensation around where (I am guessing here) my cervix is. It is really quite painful and I was wondering if anyone knew what it might be or if anyone else had experienced this in their pregnancy?, I didnt with my first.

I know its not a water infection as I have had two lots of urine tested this week and both have come back negative and I really dont think it can be thrush as I dont have any of the other symptoms. There is no odd looking or smelling discharge either.

Its probably vaginal hemmoroids, most pregnant women get them. Theyre usually internal, and quite painful.

It can also just be the pain of your uterus and of the baby filling and pushing into the pelvis, and against the cervix.

If you have had sex recently that can irritate your cervix and make it hurt for a few days after.

That sort of pain is very normal. It can be any number of things, all of which are normal with later pregnancy. The only difference would be if you had it accompanied with green or yellow foul smelling discharge.

I had that sensation, and I freaked and went to the hospital. Turns out it was my son hiccupping. It felt like a squirrel with sharp claws scratching my cervix.

Try using an antifungal cream like micatin or one used for athlete foot like tinactin. That may help. Also use a new razor.
