Ask this question in two years when he is no longer the flavor of the month kick returner. Do you remember Dante Hall in 2003, every few years some new kick returner returns a few kicks and he is a Hall of Famer. Hester won't ever be a great player since he has no true position, plus Dante's numbers were even better from 02-04 and he is about out of the league now. Your Barry Sanders question is a joke right, did you ever see Barry play, he played alot more then 6 snaps a game and he is a HOFer.

There are several players who are faster. Some players in the NFL get in on speed along, but don't play because they can't really do much. The players in the speed challenges at the pro bowl are usually backup defensive backs and wide recievers. It was even reported that Randy Moss had a 4.3 40 time even at his current age of 30, compared to Hester's 4.35.

As for comparing Sanders to Hester plus some meat/muscle, its impossible to tell, but Sanders was the best RB of all time, impossible to tackle, fast, elusive, he had the entire package.

PS - kcchief, Hall has 12 return TDs in 102 games, while Hester has 9 in 22 games. Hester is just on another level, Dante Hall never came close to Hester's return numbers. He had 9 in that period of time you gave, Hester already has 9 in his first 22 NFL games. And no, a record breaking returner doesn't come every few years. By the looks of it, Hester is quite easily on his way to becoming the best returner ever.
PSS - Spurs and Cowboys, Marion Barber is hard to knock down, but he doesn't have good speed at all.

certainly the quickest guy in NFL history grow to be possibly Darrell green. He as a CB for the redskins. Deion and Hester are possibly fairly comparable. Deion grow to be a extra advantageous potential participant, yet his velocity and explosiveness on kick returns grow to be something the league didnt see too often so as that they werent as arranged for the form of angles he might reason. Hester in spite of the indisputable fact it quite is enjoying in a swifter league the place somewhat quickly men play in each sport (i.e. Dante corridor) and yet he nonetheless makes kick coverage communities seem ridiculous. From that perspective i might say Hester between the two.

hester is known for being very elusive. he has great agility and vision. his speed is a different story though. he ranked #5 at his scouting combine for the 40 yard dash. there are a lot of players still faster than hester. returning kickoffs is a lot different from being a wr. he played against the packers last sunday, he couldn't break away from the cbs. there were a lot of players in the past that were faster, such as deion sanders and darrell green. today there are several others such as deangelo hall and champ bailey. again, speed is not what makes him great, its his elusiveness, agility, and vision that makes him so dangerous.

Barry Sanders would make a better RB, because Hester is a WR.

Prime time Deion Sanders, one of the fastest ever. Maybe not the fastest, but faster than Hester.

Why isn't anyone saying James Jett. Is it because he is not cool?
Or smoke pot? or a thug like Hester?

He is a special teamer and does not own many/any records.

Bullet Bob Hayes was an olympic sprinter.

WHo would make a better back? Don't say that out loud in public, people might think less of you.
