Fear of any kind is hard to live with. Low self-esteem makes a person dread making a mistake. Once we learn that our mistakes aren't all that terrible, we're better able to take chances. Eventually we can actually laugh at our mistakes. That's a bonus ... one to aim for. Be good to yourself!

By learning a process by which you minimize your mistakes. You will make a mistake--today, tomorrow, or next year--but if it does not affect anything seriously, use it a learning experience of how not to make the mistake again. If your mistakes could hurt someone--say you are a surgical nurse--then do not undertake any action you fear may do harm. If that means taking up a new profession, then do so. Above all, let the things you do correctly raise your self-esteem--as they should--so that your mistakes do not count too far to the negative side.

Simple. Make lots of mistakes.

How would you get over any fear? How do you get over a fear of heights? Go up to a high place. How do you get over a fear of dogs? Spend time with dogs.

The consequences of our mistakes are never as bad as the stress we put ourselves through worrying about making the mistakes in the first place. It is only when we aren't afraid of the mistakes that we can succeed beyond our wildest dreams.

Thomas Edison had to be home-schooled by his mother because his schoolmaster said his brain was "addled." Edison was fired from countless jobs, failed at an untold number of experiments, and was often in debt. He turned out okay. Good thing he wasn't afraid of failure.

Well I suppose if you made a mistake, the best thing to do is deal with it head on, fess up to your mistake, and in some sense defeating the fear, just continue to deal with them as you make them, everyone makes mistakes, we are only human.

Like getting over the fear of everything else, practice. Everyone makes mistakes. Learn from them, the more you make, the easier it is.

Depends . . . WHY do you fear making a mistake?

You can't possibly get good advice without explaining why you have the fear.

Example - Your fear would be perfectly rational if someone hit you in the head every time you did it.

Ask your self what you have to learn from the mistake you made. You'll keep making the same kind of mistake over and over until you finally figure out the lesson you intended to learn.

practice. lol
Seriously, most things we worry about never come to pass.
Even if you make a mistake, there's a high probability that the sun will rise again tomorrow. And most people aren't watching you...they're worrying about their own mistakes.
