I installed travertine tile myself and didn't have time to seal it. Now, its 6 months later and I feel it needs a thorough cleaning before sealing it. Some tiles have also cracked. Do I repair with grout? What's my best approach? I've read using a polishing machine for travertine, but not sure that's the best thing in my case.

Vinagar is an acid! Never use an acid to clean a travertine floor. This will corrupt your tile. Many times travertine is not "sealed." It is either honed or polished. There are many ph neutral cleaners at various box stores that sell those cleaning products.

the reason the tile is cracking is because it was not installed with the right backer board. it will continue to crack since it was done wrong............NEXT TIME YOU DECIDE TO DO A PROJECT YOURSELF DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.............
