The inverse of f(x)=3x-2 is f^-1(x)=(x+2)/3
Now, for an English translation.
The math symbol for "the inverse of f(x)" is the
symbol f^-1(x). Please note that this is NOT 1/f(x).
Now, how to get (x+2)/3
Since y=f(x), I"m going to write y=3x-2
To get the inverse, simply swap places for x and y,
then solve for y.
From f(x)=y=3x-2), we do the swap to get
x=3y-2
3y=x+2
y=(x+2)/3
And that, sir, is your f^-1(x). Works every time.

y=3x-2
3x=y+2
x=(y+2)/3 is the inverse function

ummm do u recommend via potential of inversing y = x^(2) ? lols ok, via potential of inversing it, replace y into x, & x into y i.e: x = y^(2) making looking the eqn of y = ~~~~~~~~~~ sq. root (x) = y as a effect y = (+ or -)x^(0.5)

------f ---->
x------>(3x - 2) = y

<----g-----
x<--------y

g(y) = x
y = 3x - 2
3x = y + 2
x = (y + 2) / 3

g(y) = (y + 2) / 3
Thus inverse is
f^(-1) (x) = (x + 2) / 3

f(x) = 3x - 2

x = 3f-1(x) - 2

x + 2 = 3f-1(x)

(x+2)/3 = f-1(x)

f-1(x) = (x+2)/3

f(x)=3x-2
y=3x-2
For finding f^-1(x),swap x &y
x=3y-2
or x+2=3y
or y =(x+2)/3
or f^-1(x)=(x+2)/3 ans
