Everything was fine with my computer.A windows xp. I shut it down as usual. Having no problems for 1 year. Next day I opened it up problem was the fan seemed louder than usual plus the monitor wasn't running. It said it's wasn't plugged in I checked for it it was plugged in. What seems to be the problem?

Plus my fan is faster than usual so I'm not really understanding what the problem is. It couldn't be overheating heck its cold enough.

Your fan may be running faster because it is having a hard time keeping your CPU cool. From time to time you need to open up your PCs main frame to clean the fan. That may help.
