It sounds like he may have a hemoroid. It could be inside or barely outside. That would be my first guess. He should go to the doctor to make sure. The doctor will examine him and then decide what to do. Hemoroids are easily treated.

Most all the answers you've gotten this far are good ones, and could be anything from hemorrhoids, a fissure, a polyp or in the worst case scenario, cancer. His best bet is to get a referral to a proctologist and have a colonoscopy. I've had a couple, and they're not that bad. The prep work that you have to go through beforehand is the worst part, and afterward you'd never know you had anything done. Having one will help figure out exactly what the bleeding is coming from, and if nothing else, it'll help ease your mind.
Better safe than sorry!

Quite possibly, if the stool is too hard, it can cause a fissure (broken or cracked open skin). Very common with hard stools. Try getting more fiber in the diet.
If it's not hard stool, and/or the bleeding doesn't stop, go see a doctor.

Possibly hemorrhoids, if it keeps happening every time you go to the bathroom you should see a doctor to make sure it is not something more serious.

sometimes its constipation.......when the stool dosn't eject for a while it begins to increase and when it does eject its so big that it enlarges the rectum, therefore causing bleeding......try eating more fiber, bananas, (best) or banana smoothie.......banana smoothie is just 1-2 bananas in a blender, add milk, and about 2-3 tsp of sugar for taste.......good and helpfull

A good friend just had this and went in only to find out he has Colon Cancer. It could, of course, mean something less drastic. But check it out asap...

Um.. nothing that serious.. if this has happened to you, you might have eaten something red.. like a tomato. Or one of your blood vessels is leaking therefor will go through to your rectum.
If you find this serious, I suggest seeing your primary health physician and checking out the problem. He/she might take a quick test

uhmm you might have hemorrhoids, these are swollen veins in the lower rectum. They may be inside your rectum or anus; or outside your rectum or anus. hemorrhoids that are inflamed may be painful when you move your bowels, or bend down. i would definally get that checked out
