The better question is, how much is big business propaganda? We are supposed to be a government for the people, by the people, for the people. We have elected officials that are supposed to make informed decisions for the people, that are for the benefit of the people. Instead there is a tendency for them to make decisions that are for the better of the big businesses that got them elected. When the only people watching your actions are big business it is no wonder. All the average citizen does it watch at most an issue or two closeup and for the remainder, we rely on the news (a big business that creates hype to get sponsors to pay for their hype). The only solution is education, and lots of it. There are many well educated persons that see nonsense in the government every day, but do not speak out because they don't think the average citizen would understand them or have the same opinion as them, or they are fearful of having negative impact on their career. Unfortunately, there are a lot of ways people can mess with your life without doing anything to you that you can prove without extreme legal action which carries a huge risk in the burden of proof and the eternal damnation of being labelled a whistle blower.

I would say about 45% is government propaganda, brainwashing and lies. Espesially on Fox which I call them "The Bush News". In addition on American TV they never show and tell you everything. Accordingly I'm reading on the internet British, Russian and Italian news in order to be aware what is really going on in the US and rest of the world. Their news are way broader and without being spiced with Neocon propaganda and lies.

As long as a person is intelligent enough to determine what is propaganda and what is true, it shouldn't matter. However, there are some who cannot find fault with anything that comes from the oval office for fear they will appear unpatriotic. For me, when glaring mistakes are made, it's ridiculous to cover them up with "respect for the office of the President", instead of acknowledging them as mistakes!

Its not actual government propaganda. Its propaganda by the media itself. The media has a political agenda. And ever since watergate they realized what kind of power they have. Now they feed us lies, especially the left wing media,in an attempt to force their political agenda on us.

Those who have the most information about any subject is the one who can and will bend and twist that information the way he wants. Be careful, and pay very close attention to what you read and who wrote it.
