Some days I feel like I could take on the world. other days I feel like I'll always be a failure.
My parents tell me I have the talent and will power to do anything I want....(Like my dad and papa...) They wouldn't just say that but I can't rely on them... Is this making sense? am I alright? can anyone look back and say they understand? can relate? Do even the most talented, and those who succeed have crappy days? Am i doomed?

I wouldn't be worried about what you're going through. I had many crappy days, especially in middle school and high school. Sometimes I felt like what I was facing was impossible -- everyone expects so much sometimes -- I had to get good grades, had to get along with everyone. I felt like I had to be perfect all of the time.

When I was really upset my parents would say the same things to me, telling me I could and would do anything and everything. That I shouldn't worry about trying to be perfect.

I think everything is just magnified around those years. Every emotion is just so much more intense at the beginning of your teenage years. When I was sad, I was really devastatingly sad, and when I was happy I was ecstatically happy.

Everyone has crappy days -- even people who end up succeeding. I don't know if my experience is the same as everyone else, but I know there were days I thought I couldn't do anything, and now I look back and realize how much I really did. I think that period of your life will end once you are about 16 years old, though it may be different for everyone. I'm 18 now, going to college at UC Berkeley, and most of my mood-swing days have ended.

Though I think it is normal for everyone to have a bad day, even when everything is going well, and even when you are an adult, or a few years older. I still have bad days, but I guess you just have to power through and wait for the days that will be good.

I hope this answers the question at least a little.

I have the same problem. I was told by a doctor that the mood swings are just a phase I might be going through... But when I went to my counselor... She said I was bipolar. I was in denial that I had that problem. But I am 18 now and have gained so much now that I'm on pills and they help control my mood swings... But they say I'm crazy... I mean on minute I could be happy then the next minute I could be all sad and depressed... That is why I take medicine. But sometimes it is best to just journal. It is a great way to take out any kind of anger that you may feel when you are having your mood swing. Or sit and talk with someone about what is bothering you...

Honey your fine it's just puberty. My 17 year old daughter still has mood swings everyday and it gets worse every month when Aunt Flo comes to visit( she gets her period). I do check her out to make sure her head is'nt rotating 360 degrees and she is'nt throwing up green stuff. Melissa gets so grumpy I could swear she was possessed but then she goes back to normal after 3 or 4 days.Have fun, enjoy life. It gets better I swear. We've all been through it and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Hope I helped

Oh honey your not doomed!!! Every one has crappy days, teens, adults, even kids!!! Don't worry you have your whole life ahead of you. You are at such a delicate stage in your development and it's okay to be uncertain about many things. Ugh! I remember 13. Am I a girl, am I a woman, I had my period already so... What do I do about this guy I like, I have lots of home work, look at these pimples, are these boobs, my best friend hates me AGHHHHHH!!!! Don't worry, you are going to be okay. Something my mom always told me and now I see she was right, enjoy these years because they will be the best times of your life!!! Have fun and don't stress you'll be doin' enough of that when you become an adult.
Blessings to you. :)

Don't worry about it - mood swings are completely normal. I'll admit - it is a parents job to say things like that and show support for you but none the less it's nice to know that someone's there for you. I definatl understand that maybe you don't trust them but they care for you alot and want you to be able to do whatever you aspire to.
Oh, and no you're not "doomed" :)

(I'm not too much older then you, so i can relate - hopefully i helped)

mood swings are normal, and there are days when you can take on the world and there are days when the world beats you down - we have all been there. the great ones use perseverance - they never give up. if mood swings interfere with your life mention it to your doctor next time you go in to see him/her

your 13, your body is revving you up to become an adult, you have your own ideas about life and opinions on everything else. having mood swings is just a normal part of growing up. its called puberty!!!

You are a typical teenager. It's 100% normal.

In fact, if you didn't have mood swings it'd be something to worry about.
