Get both computers connected to the same router. Click "Network Setup Wizard." Follow the wizard the same on both computers. Make sure file sharing and printer sharing are both enabled. Once you do so, open Network Connections and refresh the folder. You should see the other computer in that folder, and you can open it and search any shared files that computer may have. To enable a particular folder, Right click > Properties > Sharing and Security. Make that file shared.

To use a printer, you just have to make sure the printer is connected to atleast one of the computers. When you try to print something, click search network printers and it will pop up. YAY!

If you have a wireless network you don't need more than one printer. Here at my place my first PC is hooked up to the router and an external modem and my second PC is hooked up to the printer and a receiver.
The first printer if in use and if someone wants to print something it will send the signal to my computer and via it do the printing.

You need to create a shared network, name it and follow the prompts in windows. Then when your done with their set-up wizard, it will prompt you to save the file which you should do onto a disc or removable memory card. Take that file and open it onto the second computer to put it onto the same network. Now right click on any folder you want to share, go to share and configure it your liking (it terms of read/write properties).

On a Mac, you still create a network, then afterwards you find the network in your network panel, then click on the network name, then onto the computer you want to connect to. You then mount the folder to access.

Make sure the computers "see" each other on your little LAN. Then set up folders you want to share; create the folders then right click the folder and on the sharing tab set the folder to share. If you go into advanced set it for ever one to share.

Should easy.

Good Luck

put them both in the same "workgroup" right click my computer properties, name. Then turn off the windows firewall. You should then be able to share using the shared documents folder, or right click the folders and setup sharing that way. Good luck.
