I'm sure tiny bits of progress has been made but nothing drastic, Zarkawi and Sadamm are dead, but dozens of more terrorist leaders have sprung up since. Why did VP Cheney say this comment knowing that it was nothing but an empty promise. I want the pro-war crowd to tell me what kind of progress has been made in which it make us seem like the insurgency may be in its last throes today. We know its not and if anything in 2005 the insrugency was just starting up and today another sovereign state (Turkey) is in direct danger because of this so-called "fatigued" insurgency.

War is messy and unpredictable. I know many naive individuals want everything to be very surgical and perfect. . But the fact is, war is not easy or predictable. Not sure why this is so difficult to understand. People can't accurately predict when house construction will be complete but yet expect absolutes in war . . . it baffles the mind.
