What is the most numer of hits a team could possibly get in a game without scoring a run. Time for you all to rack your brains. And if anybody knows the record for most hits in a game with zero runs, that would be interesting to know as well.

54...6 hits an inning times 9 innings...an inning would be something like hit, picked off, hit, picked off, hit, hit, hit, and then a hit that hits a runner...its an out but batter still gets a hit...side note...if a team ever gets 54 hits and doesn't score a run that entire team will be in the minors the next day.

The highest possible would be infinity, of course. If the other team also doesn't score a run, extra innings carry the game on forever.

Otherwise, the max is SIX per inning; two batters get hits and are put out on the bases (picked off, for example), and then the bases are clear for more batters to get hits. Three more hits for a total of five, and the bases are loaded. Batter six hits a line drive that strikes one of the other runners. The batter is credited with a hit - Rule 10.05(a)(4) - and the runner is out. The run does not score - Rule 7.08(f).

As for most hits in a game without scoring, the record appears to be 14, done in 1913 and 1928. Link below:

Well I remember quite well in 2000 (I was at this game), the Angels put up 11 hits on the Yankees (9 of them came in the first 6 innings of the game) and they never scored. The final was like, 4-0?

14 is the record for a nine-inning game.

New York Giants on September 14, 1913 (shut out by the Cubs).
Cleveland Indians on July 10, 1928 (shut out by Washington).

Johnson, but lose 1–0 in 15 innings. This a ML frustration record for

The most recent
brush with the record apparently happened in 1993 when the Braves gave
up 13 hits but shut out the Pirates.

"July 18, 1993: Atlanta's Steve Avery and two relievers shut out the
Pirates, 2-0, despite surrendering 13 hits, just one shy of the record
for most hits allowed in a shutout."

I cannot cite the games, but the most hits in a nine-inning shutout loss is 14, and in extra innings 15.

Since the most hits possible in a half-inning without scoring a run is six, that leads to the answer.

54 hits if I counted right, for one team, but that doesn't include extra innings, but I dont know what was the record without scoring a run.

All those men who pronounced the rangers scored 38 are thoroughly incorrect. It grow to be 30 vs Baltimore final season. maximum all time grow to be the 36 scored in 1897 via the Chicago Colts. maximum ever via the two communities collectively grow to be 40 9 while the Cubs beat the Phillies (regrettably) 26-23. The Corinthian is suited. He must be getting the ten factors.
