No - not at all. The peace prize is very appropriate. Consider this: while it is it may turn out all the scientist studying global warming are wrong. No doubt about, the science is not 100% proof that glabal warming is man made and may turn out to be natural. That being said there is a large body of evidence to suggest it is man made. Now if it is man made what would we want to do - wait until it is proven. By then it will be to late. Would it not be better to assume that it is a fact and implement pollution reduction methods now. Even if global warming is not true it will still benefit all of us and other species to cut down on human made pollution.
So lets examine the consequences if global warming predictions are correct. If places where people are living on the coast get swamped, other areas go through extensive drought etc etc etc it will very much affect where humans will want to/can live. Migrations will occur - maybe US citizens will become the mexicans of Canada (no offense to mexicans please - just using a political statement that hopefully will cause some though that the US may get itself into) - but if the US does go into extensive drought and up north it becomes warmer well where will migration occur. Similarly accross the world with humans migrating to better climates that will cause a LOT of conflict - i.e. affect peace around the world. Access to resourses - food water - could make it very difficult for a lot of people.
So by addressing global warming with the idea that it is a fact, rather than hoping it is not and going on as we are will certainly help avoid a lot of hardship, strife and war if global warming is fact.
Bottom line the Peace prize is very appropriate.

Do you have any idea how many people within and outside the scientific community are arguing about global warming and what its future effects on us are going to be. Everyone has an opinion, but it seems no one can be definitive.
Gore deserves the Nobel peace prize, let him enjoy it!!

absolutly not. gore won the nobel peace prize and that he will do. With global warming many of our fossel fuels are being used in the future when the amounts of fossel fuels become low the world will begin to fight over them. By making everyone aware he is hopefully going to help slow down the speed in which we are using our fossel fuel. Gore was a very rightfull winner of the nobel peace prize.

No one wants it to be true and some people, even with respectful authorities are not exception.
What will be said to the new ice age scientists? As they aren't Americans, so visible, so political......... they're crazy lunatics but armless, because one of Gore's main merits in this video was the call of attention...........
